In Conversation With Newcomer Artists

Immigrants are an asset to our communities and make important contributions to Toronto’s arts scene. Neighbourhood Arts Network is working to support newcomer artists through their outreach programs, and the TELUS Newcomer Artist Award is an important acknowledgement of the talent and energy that newcomers bring to Toronto.

In conversation with Toronto Arts Foundation Research Manager, Margo Charlton, the six finalists talked about their journey to Canada, the differences between the Toronto arts scene and art-making in their homeland, what they are working on now and where they want to be in the future, and what winning this award would mean to them.
