Artists and arts organizations make a tremendous contribution to the economic vitality and livability of their communities. Toronto's investment in the arts leverages increased support from other sources, increases employment, encourages tourism and ensures greater accessibility to arts programming in all Toronto neighbourhoods.

Toronto Arts Facts gathers together key information about the arts in Toronto, compiled from a wide variety of research studies and statistical resources. This information – which falls into the general areas of the arts’ role in the economy, its impact on communities, and its place in people’s lives – was intended, at first, to provide fact-based information to arts funders and policy makers.

Toronto Arts Facts is a publication of Toronto Arts Foundation, compiled and edited by Jini Stolk, Creative Trust Fellow, with Kathleen McLeod and Kasia Gladki.

Toronto Art Stats 2016: A Public Survey of the Arts is a compilation of results from an online survey of just over 500 Toronto residents conducted in January 2016 through Leger’s online panel LegerWeb. Building upon previous work, Arts Stats 2016 reveals public opinions about the arts including how Torontonians see the arts as a way to attract tourists, improve the economy, create employment, and make the city more beautiful.

Toronto Arts Stats 2016 is a publication of Toronto Arts Foundation, compiled and edited by Margo Charlton of Toronto Arts Foundation and Erin Deviney of Leger with assistance from Toronto Arts Foundation Staff: Jennifer Green, Michelle Parson and Susan Wright. Our thanks to Dave Scholz of Leger for his continued support of arts impact research.
